Zac Brown, of the Zac Brown band, came close to being arrested during a drug bust at a hotel in South Florida. According to Us Weekly, April 16, 2016, Zac apologized to fans for his lack of judgment when he attended a wild drug and stripper party.
Zac Brown allegedly arrived at a party around 2:30 a.m. and a short time, the police suddenly raided the room and arrested four people for drugs. The police report stated that law enforcement was called to investigate a suspicious looking vehicle parked outside the Four Seasons Hotel in Palm Beach around 5:30 in the morning.
When the police arrived, they gained consent from the driver to search the vehicle and in their investigation; they found 35 small zip lock baggies filled with a white powder. They tested the substance and discovered it was cocaine. The driver was arrested and he informed the officers that he was with three other people that had gone inside the hotel.
The police searched the hotel for two women and they entered the room where a party was going on. Zac Brown was among the nine people in the room when police came in and arrested two women for cocaine and one man for pot. They also discovered three strippers, with one of the girls having $1,000 cash and six condoms in her purse.
The officers entered the room about 10minutes after the strippers arrived.
Zac Brown said that he did not know strippers would be arriving at the party and he knew nothing about the drugs. According to sources, Zac was with a friend earlier that night and the friend asked Zac to join him, along with a bunch of other guys, at a hotel room.
TMZ reported that the police officers were so star struck by meeting “the” Zac Brown that they wanted to leave his name off the reports. Even though the police denied to TMZ that Zac Brown was even in the hotel room that night, the police records state the famous singer was there in the room. A source said that the officers asked for his autograph and then they made fun of one of the strippers because she did not know whom Zac Brown was.
Sources also told TMZ that Zac asked the police to keep his name out of their reports because he did not want his wife and five kids to find out what happened or where he was. Zac also had a bottle of prescription pills and when they looked in the bottle, two of the pills were different. Mr. Brown was able to provide proof for the pills, prescribed by his doctor for pain.
Zac Brown took to Facebook to apologize to his fans and to share the lesson he learned from the experience. He posted, “My dad always said nothing good ever happens when you stay out late. It’s a lesson I learned the hard way last week, being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I attended a private gathering at a Miami-area hotel and had only been there for a short time when police officers arrived and arrested two people in the room who had just showed up a few minutes before. I did not know these people and had no idea that there were drugs in their possession. I cooperated fully with the authorities and am not part of any ongoing police investigation. Everyone is responsible for their actions, and I regret using poor judgment and putting myself in that position.”
Zac continued, “I am focused on continuing to make great music for my fans, and on representing my family and community well with our philanthropic work. And next time I’ll make sure to remember what my dad taught me.”
