Video game publisher Microïds, today announced that it intends to release the adventure game, “Yesterday Origins,” on both consoles and PC, in September of this year.
“Yesterday Origins” is the latest adventure game from developer Pendulo Studios, the company behind one of my favorite adventure game series on the PC, “Runaway.” The title follows John Yesterday, and his partner Pauline, immortals who own an antiques store in Paris. The story takes place across current and medieval eras, through a series of flashbacks, which will even take gamers back to the Spanish Inquisition, as a young John runs afoul of the church, and is imprisoned for witchcraft. The main story takes place in the present day however, and will have players switching between John and Pauline, as they seek the origins of immortality, joined by a robust cast of characters, who all have their own plans for the duo.
Microïds will release “Yesterday Origins” for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac, beginning on Sept. 29, 2016, in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Polish. The game will be fully voice-acted, and feature an interface and controls suited for both game controllers as well as a mouse.
