The rumor mills in major league baseball (MLB) have been filled with talk lately that Washington Nationals superstar slugger Bryce Harper will eventually end up in New York playing for the Yankees. Bryce Harper does not become a free-agent until the 2018 season but speculation is already rampant that the Yankees want Harper and will spend the estimated $400 million it would take to lock him up as a free-agent in a long-term deal.
As a power-hitting lefty slugger who crushed 42 home runs in 2015 playing in spacious Nationals Park one can only imagine how many home runs Bryce Harper might hit in lefty friendly Yankee Stadium. Certainly 60 home runs in a season would not be out of the question for Bryce Harper in Yankee Stadium playing for the New York Yankees.
Bryce Harper is still only 23 years old so he will be only 25 years old when he becomes a free-agent in 2018. Most major league players hit their prime at age 27 so the New York Yankees would certainly spend a fortune for a lefty slugger entering his prime in 2018.
Will Bryce Harper end up playing for the New York Yankees in 2018? The rumor mill says the Yankees are already saving up money for a potential blockbuster deal to sign Harper in 2018. It is still a couple years away but stay tuned as this story will continue to grow until Bryce Harper does become a free-agent and signs a deal in 2018.
