Everyone knows they should never give up on their goals, but sometimes knowing is not enough. Life can put people in ruts, and while knowing you shouldn’t give up is one thing, actually fighting through the ruts is another.
Many people become weighed down over the burdens, weight, and distractions during periods of obstacles, challenge, trial, and tribulations. During such unanticipated circumstances, it is important to remember the reasons why you should never give up because this will propel you to continue to fight, work, and take action to continue your progress forward. Here are several reasons to always keep in mind so you never decide to stop working toward what you want.
1. Even if you are unable to obtain your goal right now, this moment, your hard work is benefiting you somehow.
Keep these benefits in mind as you hope to eventually reach your goal. Good habits develop and are beneficial to you, but if you get in a rut and give up, bad habits can form and take over, making it more difficult in the long run to have any chance at reaching your goals.
2. You’ll inspire people.
Some people don’t realize it, but one of the greatest rewards of the human experience is serving a positive purpose and as a positive example to others. When you can carry a story within you throughout your life that you can share with others that can give them hope, keep them believing, and inspiring them to succeed, this is a very special and rewarding thing. It is very powerful. Everyone encounters struggles time to time on the journey of life, and to be able to be a living example to them of why they should keep trying, keep believing in themselves, and working hard toward their goals is an excellent thing.
When you can touch others’ lives in a positive way, it really makes you feel good. Think of the opposite, if you were a downer who didn’t give people you know encouragement and told them their goals were impossible and that their challenges were too difficult to overcome. From your own family, kids, and friends to coworkers, customers, and strangers, possessing your own success story of how you overcame the odds and obstacles and never gave up until you reached your goals is a positive and helpful resource for them, a story they can use in their times of doubt and disbelief.
3. There has to be rewards eventually.
With this thought, you are using faith, but placed in real world application, such an abstract thought is accurate. This is because due to the law of competition and law of opportunity, those who continue to work hard and persevere through struggles and challenges eventually get their break. They can’t not. There is really no way one can utilize resilience, hard work, never giving up, and concepts of self improvement and not be rewarded. Life is not that bad. In some way, somehow, continuing to work hard, persevere and push toward your goals has to pay off in some way. It may be exactly the way you want or it may be a way you never saw that you find equally fulfilling, beneficial, and rewarding. You have to believe that hard work, never giving up, and continuing to fight for what you want will eventually pay off.
