The Wenzel Temp Control sleeping bag introduces a versatile layered sleeping system for three-season camping. Designed with a removable quilt and drawstring hood, this synthetic rectangular sleeping bag can handle temperatures from 30 to 60 degrees. For maximum warmth, one would sleep under the quilt with the hood attached. As the temperature rises, the hood may be removed and the user can sleep on top of the quilt for added comfort or unzip and remove the quilt. Double zippers provide the option of zipping open the bottom if added ventilation is needed or completely unzipping the bag to use as a blanket. The double zippers also allow two sleeping bags to be connected together if desired. A durable attached dust wrap and compression straps make for easy stowing and carrying the sleeping bag. A drawstring storage bag is also included. Made with polyester ripstop nylon the interior is stuffed with Insul-Therm polyester fill. The Wenzel Temp Control sleeping bag weighs 6 pounds 15 ounces and is machine washable. All Wenzel sleeping bags come with a 10-year limited warranty.
For 120 years Wenzel has been bringing families together by providing an extensive selection of affordable family camping equipment. The Wenzel company mission is to help more families experience the great outdoors.
Your author tested the Wenzel Temp Control sleeping bag over a period of four days while staying in an unheated cabin in the Sierra in October. With outside temperatures dropped into the 30’s and inside temperatures not much warmer. At first glance, the bag was well made with strong stitching and large easy-sliding zippers. Slipping into the sleeping bag on the first night it was noticed immediately that the bag was quite comfortable. The polyester liner felt soft to the touch and the four pounds of Insul-therm insulation kept the author warm. Sleeping under the internal quilt provided the most warmth, and since it is only attached on one side it was easy to regulate the temperature. As the temperature warmed one needed to either slide on top of the middle quilt layer or open the zipper a bit to keep comfortable. The hood, when not needed, actually made a nice pillow, which was an added bonus. When the trip was over, the author simply rolled up the bag into the attached dust cover, tightened the compression straps and stowed it in the provided storage bag.
In conclusion, the Wenzel Temp Control sleeping bag provides campers with a well-made versatile three-season sleeping system. Whether sleeping in a tent, RV or cabin this affordable sleeping bag will fill the bill. Its synthetic insulation will keep the user warm even when wet and it’s constructed to last many years.
