I can’t imagine a nicer success story than the one of Fiona “Fi” Douglas, a Scottish designer and watercolor artist, whose artwork is being reproduced on beautiful bedding and bath items that are available in all the best stores.
Douglas works as an artist from her home studio in Glasgow, Scotland, where she lives with her husband and two children. Ultimately, she had the idea of sprucing up her bedding by turning her contemporary hand-painted watercolor designs into duvets, comforters and throws. Her idea has since proven successful and her watercolor designs, floral style prints and signature color palette have been welcomed to the U.S. through consumer demand.
Her company is bluebellgray®, where you can see all her designs for bedroom and bath including cushions, rugs, fabrics, lampshades and much more. In fact, Douglas is even venturing outside the bedroom and bath and into the dining room with several designs of tableware, cutting boards, trays and coasters.
Her designs are lovely, evoking the colors of spring hued florals as well as abstract watercolors. They are certainly a refreshing change of pace for anyone looking for something that is different.
Based in the bright and colorful bluebellgray studio in Scotland, Douglas hand paints every original bluebellgray design. State-of-the-art digital printing ensures the heart and soul of the original design is in every product and customers feel a real sense of care and attention put into every bluebellgray creation.
In the U.S., Douglas’ designs are currently available at Macy’s and Bloomingdales. The bedding ranges in price from $150 to $350.
