The place to be for classic movie fans for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day is getTV. The channel will be airing a 30 hour marathon of classic Christmas specials. The first to kick it off is “The Christmas Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour.” The 1973 show will be airing on December 24 at 12 p.m. ET, 9 p.m. ET, and on December 25 at 8 a.m. ET. It’s a rare TV special that has Sonny and Cheer signing songs like “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Jingle Bells,” and “O Holy Night.”
Next highlight is the “Best of the Andy Williams Christmas Shows.” The show will be airing on December 24 at 1 p.m. ET, 11 p.m. ET, and on December 25 at 9 a.m. EST. So there are a lot of chances to watch this Christmas special. The beloved crooner sings “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and “Ave Maria.” “The Merv Griffin-Christmas Special” will be airing on December 24 at 2 p.m. ET and on December 25 at 12 a.m. EST. This 1965 Christmas special has guests like Florence Henderson, Steven Perry, and Barbara McNair.
“Christmas with Danny Kaye” is another highlight of getTV’s marathon. The 1966 show has Peggy Lee singing with Danny, skits with Harvey Korman, and Wayne Newton performing several songs. The show was one of Newton’s earliest television appearances too! “Christmas With Danny Kaye” will be airing on December 24 at 3 p.m. ET and on December 25 at 1 a.m. ET and 11 a.m. ET. “The King Family Show” known as America’s First Family of Song starred in their own Christmas special in 1967. The show will be airing on December 24 at 4 p.m. EST and on December 25 at 2 a.m. ET and 12 p.m. ET.
Judy Garland is even added to the schedule. getTV will be airing the 1963 special on December 24 at 5 p.m. ET and on December 25 at 3 a.m. E and 1 p.m. ET. In the special Garland performs songs like “Have Yourself A Merry Christmas” and “Over the Rainbow.” Mel Torme, Jack Jones, are also on the show. So Judy Garland fans don’t forget about this one!
Andy Williams makes it back to the schedule with his 1966 Christmas special. The show “The Andy Williams Christmas Show” will be airing on December 24 at 6 p.m. ET and on December 25 at 4 a.m. ET and 2 p.m.ET. The “Mitzi Gaynor Christmas Show” is airing after “The Andy Williams Christmas Show.” It will be airing on December 24 at 7 p.m. ET and on December 25 at 5 a.m. ET and 3 p.m. ET.
Everyone’s favorite crooner Bing Crosby will be on getTV on December 24 at 8 p.m. EST and December 25 at 6 a.m. ET and 4 p.m. ET. The 1971 special is called “Bing Crosy and the Sounds of Christmas.” Next up is “The Perry Como Christmas Show.” The 1974 will airing at December 24 at 10 p.m. ET and on December 25 at 7 a.m. ET and 5 p.m. ET.
“Merv’s Christmas with the Kids” ends the variety Christmas programming. The show will be airing on December 25 at 10 a.m. ET.
