Technology has now made certain apps responsive to human voices and some apps–like the famous Siri–can even answer people’s questions and carry out a conversation. In the vein of this technology came the “Talking Tom” app, an interactive chatbot that spoke through the avatar of an animated cat named Tom.
The “Talking Tom app was so popular that it became a YouTube series which spawned several other characters such as Talking Angela, Talking Ben, Talking Ginger and Talking Hank. Created and produced out of Vienna by Outfit7, “Talking Tom and Friends: The Animated Series” chronicles the adventures, hijinks, and inventions of Talking Tom and the gang as they shoot their own reality television show. It is based on the entertainment phenomenon that has garnered over three billion mobile downloads for its suite of apps, and three billion views on YouTube.
Voice actor Tom Kenny–who is globally recognized as the voice of SpongeBob Squarepants–is the voice of Hank, a dog who has been described as goofy, clumsy, and hilariously dopey. Essentially, Hank is a dog that you can’t help but love, and who always seems to be getting into trouble. Hank’s birthday is February 29, no really, he’s a Leap Day baby, a date that only occurs once every four years.
“Hank and I have shared many-a-late-night-tacos in the past,” says Kenny. “Feliz cumpleaños my friend.”
Talking Hank, who doesn’t yet have his own app, can be seen in Outfit7’s latest app release “Talking Tom Bubble Shooter.” Additionally, episodes of the Animated Series resume March 13, 2016, on the “Talking Tom and Friends” YouTube channel.
