The Virginia vs. Miami live stream online and televised 2016 NCAA matchup takes place on Monday with the Hurricanes looking to bounce back at home after a disappointing blowout loss. On Saturday, they fell to the conference leaders, as the North Carolina Tar Heels routed them 96-71 at Chapel Hill. That dropped Miami (FL) to 10-4 in the conference, but they still remain a factor to possibly challenge for the top spot or win the ACC Tournament. The same can be said for their opponents tonight as a talented No. 7 Virginia squad, also 10-4 in the ACC, comes to town. The 2016 NCAA live streaming online and TV action arrives via ESPN on Monday.
According to a Feb. 21 report via The Daily Progress, Virginia is going for a season sweep of the Hurricanes tonight, after the two teams previously met back in mid-January. In that game at Paul Jones Arena, the Cavaliers emerged victorious by a final 66-58. Now they’ve been resting and preparing for the past six days for the latest meeting. Virginia’s most recent game was last Monday, when they bested North Carolina State by 20-points. It seems only fitting that the Miami Hurricanes are coming into the matchup having lost by over 20 points to another team that’s part of the top of the conference standings.
Right now, Virginia, Miami and Louisville are all in a three-way tie for second place in the conference, so a win tonight puts a bit of distance between at least two of the squads. Of note, forward Anthony Gill will be trying to have a better performance tonight than he did against NC State. In the blowout win he had just six points and five rebounds. Malcolm Brogdon continues to lead the Cavaliers in scoring with 17.8 points per game, while shooting 46.5 percent from the field. For the Canes it’s been their guard Sheldon McClellan, averaging 15.8 points per game, 3.2 rebounds and almost two assists. Right now, Virginia is second in the nation in terms of their defense as they allow just 59.5 points per game to the opponents and have been able to use that pesky defense on the road against Louisville, among other teams.
The Hurricanes are still considered slight favorites of just a point heading into this important home game on Monday. On the moneyline, they’re -120 favorites, while Virginia is a +100 underdog. The over/under points total for the game is hovering around 128 points for the complete game. Both teams are eligible for the NCAA Tournament and as of right now the future odds list has Virginia as 16 to 1 favorites to win it all and Miami (FL) as 35 to 1 favorites to win it all. Michigan State leads all teams with 15 to 2 odds followed by North Carolina at 8 to 1 odds.
