Southern Nevada Public Television, including Vegas PBS, will host its 27th Annual Splendor in the Glass Wine & Beer Tasting event at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino Ballroom on Feb. 20.
Chef Grant MacPherson, of Scotch Myst Global Food & Beverage Consulting, will showcase some of his favorite dishes during a cooking demonstration. Chef Grant’s career has spanned for over four decades on five continents. He has worked in Bellagio Las Vegas, Raffles Hotel in Singapore, Regent Hotels Sydney, Wynn Las Vegas, Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton Big Island, Wynn Macau and Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados.
“This wine tasting event is our signature fundraiser and is a great opportunity to bring our continued supporters together to celebrate the success of Vegas PBS in the community as well as raise critical funds needed to support programming and outreach,” Southern Nevada Public Television Board President Bill Curran said in a press release.
Splendor in the Glass will offer guests a variety of wines and beers from over 60 wineries and breweries courtesy of Southern Wine and Spirits of Nevada. Along with beer and wine tastings, where will also be hors d’oeuvres. A silent auction will be held featuring items including a 2-night stay at the Historic Sutter Home Victorian Inn, complete with a wine country breakfast, tour and tasting at the Napa Winery as well as four tickets to the Boyd Gaming 300 NASCAR Xfinity race in March. The Woody Woods Jazz Combo will perform during the event.

The annual event raises funds for programming and community outreach initiatives for Vegas PBS. This includes television programming and other technologies to educate as well as benefit community organizations. Vegas PBS Channel 10 has been rated as one of America’s most-watched PBS stations and offers five secondary channels: Create, Vme, Worldview, Rewind and Jackpot! Vegas PBS also collaborates with others to present content that examines current and historic issues. Vegas PBS provides outreach programs to assist students (children and adults), professional development services for teachers, education courses, online adult job training, career services and resources for veterans, literacy and health workshops and 24/7 online access to content using devices and media. Educational materials for the deaf, hard of hearing, blind or vision impaired are also provided.
The 27th Annual Splendor in the Glass Wine & Beer Tasting event will be held 3 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 20 at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino Ballroom. Guests must be 21 years or older to attend. Tickets are $85 for advance purchase and $100 the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Vegas PBS Educational Technology Campus located at 3050 E.
