The VCU vs. Oklahoma live stream online and TV basketball game will have viewers rooting on these teams to make it to the next round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament. The winner moves on to the Sweet Sixteen portion of the brackets while the loser goes home to regroup. In previous editions of the tournament, Virginia Commonwealth played the role of upset specialists, but can this latest version of the team do so against this tough Sooners team from the Big 12? This latest NCAA tournament live streaming and televised matchup will be featured for viewers as one of several games on the nighttime schedule.
According to NCAA.com’s report on March 20, the game features potential Player of the Year, Buddy Hield of the Sooners, trying to bring his team to the next round. Hield averages 25 points per game and nearly hit a buzzer-beater shot against West Virginia in the Big 12 Tournament. That shot was waved off, preventing the Sooners from advancing and potentially ending their No. 1 seed hopes for the tournament. Instead, they’re a No. 2 seed and still playing with a vengeance. Hield scored 27 points on 8-of-14 shooting this past Friday to help his team take down CSU Bakersfield. He leads a talented lineup that is ranked No. 24 in the nation in points scored a game with 80.4 on average per contest.
The No. 10 seed VCU Rams were able to upset No. 7 Oregon State. JeQuan Lewis put in 21 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the floor including 3-for-6 three-point shooting. Lewis also snatched seven rebounds and dished out eight assists to further help his team win their first NCAA Tournament game since 2013. If he or another player can step up today to upset the Sooners, it would mark the first time since 2011 that Virginia Commonwealth has been in the Sweet 16. For Oklahoma, they’re looking to make it to the round for their second straight time and their head coach Lon Kruger has brought a total of four programs to the round. His Sooners will be up against a team that holds opponents to 66.7 points a game, ranking 55th in the nation in the category.
