Two of our Republican presidential candidates share Florida addresses, but both could not be more opposite. Dr. Ben Carson, who recently dropped out of the race for the presidency, is a retired neurosurgeon most respected for his famous surgery separating twins. Mr. Donald Trump, who is presently going strong with his campaign, is a successful businessman. Dr. Ben Carson is a mild, mannered, soft spoken gentleman. Mr. Donald Trump shows his temperament a bit more aggressively.
They could be compared to the ‘Odd Couple’ and yet Dr. Ben Carson has recently given his endorsement to Mr. Trump. During the debates there were very few sparks flying between the two and they pretty much declared insults between them unnecessary. Perhaps that had something to do with this admiration for the Trump campaign by Dr. Ben Carson. Dr. Carson recently stated that Mr. Trump is really quite the opposite from what the public has seen during his campaign. He further stated that Mr. Trump and he got to know one another during the debates.
There seems to be many facets of Mr. Trump that we have yet to see. Will a presidential demeanor show up by Mr. Trump, now that it is pretty much a two man race to the Whitehouse? He has yet to temper down his rhetoric and focus on the issues that the American people want to hear about. Mr. Trump has said that he will build and complete a wall on our southern border and he has repeatedly announced that Mexico will pay for it. He says that he will take care of our veterans and bring back the respect to our police officers. He says he will replace Obamacare. He says that he will end Common Core and let the States lead the way with educating our children. He says he will not be politically correct when dealing with Isis and terrorists. He says he will make better trade deals and bring jobs back to America. He says he will stand by our allies.
Maybe Dr. Ben Carson is seeing what some are neglecting. This is by far one of the most controversial elections in history. Almost eight years ago America made history with electing the first black man to serve as President of the United States. Controversy surrounded that time in our nation and in our history as well. How soon we forget.
We are really a very young country and we are feeling the growing pains of our society as we know it. There are changes on the horizon with the next president of this wonderful country of ours. We can only pray that we elect a president who will follow our Constitution and keep us a free nation. A healthy tweek along the way is always welcomed, but our founding fathers laid the groundwork. The landscape of America was to be a free nation. Socialism and Communism was not what our founding fathers intended for this great, free nation. Let us be free.
