The “toys, tots, pets and more” review site TTPM announced the top summer toys and gear for families and pets at the annual TTPM Spring Showcase, held today at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Pavilion, with over 30 toy manufacturers on hand exhibiting their seasonal wares in highlighting the major trends and innovations for spring and summer play.
As the event fell on Bring Your Child to Work Day, over 100 kids were also in attendance and gleefully sampled the new toy product.
“Parents are eager to provide kids with new and diverse play experiences for the summer,” noted TTPM executive VP and content director Chris Byrne. “TTPM helps them find the most innovative and fun products based on their kids’ play styles and interests and then buy them from a variety of retailers quickly and easily.”
Said TTPM CEO/editor-in-chief Jim Silver, “There are more entertainment properties for kids this year than ever before, all with outstanding toy programs appealing to a wide range of kids. From superheroes to pets and for preschoolers to teens, this is going to be an exceptionally strong season for movie toys.”
At the showcase, TTPM revealed its Most Wanted list of the most anticipated toys from this summer’s blockbuster films (Captain America: Civil War, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, Finding Dory, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and The Secret Life of Pets) along with outstanding outdoor toys (Candylicious Bubbles, the Nerf Super Soaker Breach Blast, Water Warriors Gargantua, Booger Balls, Wet Head and the Aerobie Pro Flying Ring) and toy brands (Shopkins, DC Super Hero Girls, Tsum Tsum, Paw Patrol, The Lion Guard, Play-Doh and Barbie).
Additionally, TTPM announced its new Paw of Excellence Awards recognizing the season’s top toys and gear for pets, and made note of new chew toys, apparel, catnip and collars available for that consumer segment this summer. TTPM executive VP/GM and pet content director Andy Krinner noted that the awards’ “timing couldn’t be better because today’s pet parents want the best products for their furry kids”—pets being “part of the family, too.”
As the event transpired on National Superhero Day, Silver noted that the WWE was not only exhibiting, but personally represented by its New Day tag team. He also noted that TTPM is expanding its baby product reviewing, to include diaper comparisons and a forthcoming Baby Awards.
TTPM covers toys, baby gear, pet toys, kids electronics and sporting goods, publishing over 5,000 independent reviews annually–each featuring the TTPM Price Check of live price comparisons and one-click purchasing from major retailers.
