Donald Trump may have just given the best opportunity for his fellow GOP contenders to catch up with him with the announcement he will not be attending Thursday evenings Fox News/Google debate in Des Moines, Iowa. It’s understandable to many Trump supporters, who popularity numbers have soared since he has basically told the GOP, Democrats, and Mainstream Media to go buzz off with their business and usual politics throughout his campaign. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio having been waiting for this moment.
In a press statement, Trump’s campaign indicate the candidate “will instead host an event in Iowa to raise money for the Veterans and Wounded Warriors” rather than appear at the debate. This is not setting well with Fox News and it is yet to be seen how it will effect Iowan, or other Trump voters.
After all, Trump did take many of the special interests and lobbyists infested issued off the adult table and switched them immigration, ISIS, economy and health topics that had been previously regulated to the children’s counter. To many Trump followers, their back plan is knowing that Ted Cruz has been doing those things with his words and actions in the Senate even though it disrupted the establishment’s feast.
While there is little doubt Trump sticking his finger up into the media’s face because he knows if he is successful, it’s a strong warning to others in the media he’s not going to let them rough house him as they’ve done with so many others. Trump knows the power and the bias that’s in the media and doesn’t seem to want to deal with it. In the first debate with Fox News, Trump’s approval ratings increased after he went after moderator Megyn Kelly’s performance. Thursday’s debate will be moderated by Fox News anchors Kelly, Bret Baier, and Chris Wallace.
By not appearing, Trump’s rivals now have a chance for more spotlight attention and provide voters additional thought and information about their platforms. Senator Cruz likely has more opportunity to advance and said to Sean Hannity on Fox News today that if Trump is “afraid to have anyone ask a question, that does not bode well for what kind of commander-in-chief you’d make.”
“If you’re afraid of Megyn Kelly, then you’re going to be afraid of Hillary Clinton and you’re going to be afraid of Vladimir Putin,” Cruz stated.
Currently third place for the GOP nod in most polls, Marco Rubio released a statement to Breitbart News and others: “These kinds of theatrics by Ted Cruz and Donald Trump are an entertaining sideshow, but they have nothing to do with defeating Hillary Clinton. I’m going to stay focused on uniting the Republican party so we can defeat Hillary Clinton and turn the page on eight years of liberal failure. We don’t have time for these kinds of distractions.”
The other candidates made similar statements in various news and social media:
- Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush: “Trump’s decision had escalated out of a feud between him and co-moderator Megyn Kelly.”
- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie: “It’ll give us more time to talk. And that’ll be good for me and good for the other people on the stage. You gotta show up.”
The gates of hell could unleash a strong-armed reaction to Trump. But he doesn’t care. He can continue to claim he is not owned by any union or special interest. He is no puppet to anyone or anything. We’ve learned he could care less and about how he threatens the payed off politicians and their tainted money masters. Many of his supporters agree with his tactic.
Over 63,000 signatures have signed on a Change.Org petition formed by Teri Amici from Cocoa Beach,, Florida under the hashtag #boycottfoxdebate to boycott the Fox News debate.
“We do not like the idea of boycotts,” Amici wrote. “But, Fox News is out of control and need to listen to us….Fox News has revealed itself as a political entity and not a news organization. It is sad for the many true journalists working there, but more frustrating for the American people who believed there was a legitimate news organization left… They will lose this “war” (as Rupert Murdoch put it) simply by being involved with it, because a legitimate news organization does not engage in “war,” they cover it. When Fox News crossed that line, they exposed themselves as a political entity.”
“Finally, the despicable press releases from Fox News and the overzealous arrogance of Megyn Kelly serve only to diminish their credibility, not Trump’s,” the petition stated.
Interesting, Trump supporters are realizing that Ted Cruz has also dared to force the issues against the establishment’s political pageants that many Americans question. Why hasn’t a Republican rich Congress defunded Obamacare? Why hasn’t Obama been impeached? Why are our jobs going to foreigners? Why are we not enforcing our laws? Why hasn’t action been taken against the illegal executive actions of Obama? Why are healthcare costs increasing when we were promised they would decrease? Why did college friends of Michelle Obama get foreign tech companies to build a flawed Obamacare website for $5 billion without a competitive bid? Why are illegal immigrants given benefits that our children, elderly and sick can’t have? Why is my doctor giving up? Why are deported and convicted illegal aliens released from prison and free in our streets? Why are our deals with China, Russia and Mexico so bad? Are these establishment politicians being bribed or blackmailed? Why are they immune from Obamacare? Why are they guaranteed their big retirements and we are not?
Like Trump, Cruz doesn’t play their game. Both have been wiping all the pieces of their game board as they lead and campaign. Both show they will roll the dice on behalf of citizens to uncover the cards of Benghazi, Labor Department fraud, the Veteran’s Administration dishonesty, Emailgate, and other government related crimes.
By now it is clear that Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are no joke to the “Washington Cartel” and the prevailing socialist league of liberals that fight to control their political turfs. Trump has rocked their boats and is threatening to sink some along the way. But Americans are pausing to see what occurs Thursday.
