There are many different ways to welcome in the year 2016 around Gettysburg. Some people feel that a nice social dinner party is a great sendoff for the old year and open-arm welcome for the new. That’s the idea behind the New Year’s Eve Gala happening at Atrium 1844 County House Hotel in nearby Taneytown. For this, guests are invited to spend the evening in the elegant but comfortable mansion, all decked out in holiday beauty. Hors d’oeuvres will be passed around beginning at 7 p.m., and there will even be a stationed seafood display. Once you are seated and treated to dinner at your festively decorated table, you will enjoy a seven-course dining experience crafted by Executive Chef Spencer Wolff. During your elegant meal you will be serenaded by soft piano music to set the mood. Following dinner, there will be dancing on the Veranda with music by Bill Izer of Wizer Productions. Welcome in the new year with an exclusive champagne toast at midnight and a live performance of “Auld Lang Syne” by Atrium’s own traditional Scottish bagpiper.
The cost for the New Year’s Eve Gala at Atrium 1844 is $150 a person (not including taxes, gratuity, and beverages). An optional wine pairing is available for $60 a person. For the ultimate New Year’s experience, you may also decide to book overnight accommodations from one of the fabulous few available rooms. All overnight guests are treated to a Sherry Station at check-in, afternoon tea, a continental breakfast tray with freshly baked muffins, a morning newspaper of your choosing, and your choice of coffee or tea. There is also an option available for a full country-style breakfast served on location in the mansion.
