The Thunder vs. Spurs live stream online and televised 2016 NBA Playoffs Game 1 tips off on Saturday night with the Western Conference playoff picture having become more puzzling this past week. With the recent injuries to Stephen Curry, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, it set up a Trailblazers vs. Warriors second round matchup. Meanwhile, Oklahoma City and San Antonio have their essential personnel mostly healthy and the winner of this series could very well end up as champions of the West. Will the Thunder be able to take out the Spurs and potentially get their superstars into another NBA Finals? This 2016 NBA live streaming and televised playoffs game comes via TNT networks.
On April 28, CBS Sports reported that the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year, Kawhi Leonard of the Spurs, has been able to hold Kevin Durant to 39.5 percent shooting from the floor when he’s been on the court. However, Leonard has not been as successful at containing Russell Westbrook, as the quick point guard is able to break free of coverage. It’s expected that Thunder head coach Billy Donovan will make sure he’s got those two superstars on the court together as much as possible, to make Leonard’s work tougher. That said, the Spurs may still have too much for this Thunder team to upset them in this enticing second round series. San Antonio has been a defensive juggernaut and is the likely West champ if Steph Curry doesn’t return.
These two teams split their four regular season meetings, so it may not be as easy a task for the Spurs to take care of business. The most recent game came just a bit over two weeks ago with Leonard going for 26 points in a 102-98 overtime victory at San Antonio. Prior to that, the Thunder won at home 111-92 behind Durant’s 31 points and 10 rebounds. Each team has won their home games in the regular season series, which seems like it should translate to this best-of-seven scenario. Three of the games this past season were decided by eight points or less, so buckle in and prepare for what could be a wild ride. If Durant or Westbrook erupts for a monster game (or two) it could be what helps the Thunder to a huge upset of the Spurs.
San Antonio will open the series as a seven-point favorite in Game 1 against Oklahoma City. On the moneyline, the Thunder are +250 underdogs with the home team a -300 favorite. Keep in mind that the Spurs lost just once all season at home, and that was to a healthy Warriors squad. For the over/under tonight, bettors will have to contemplate 201 points for the complete game. These two teams are both amongst favorites to win the championship as Vegas Insider lists the Spurs as 2 to 1 favorites, which is just below Golden State, and Oklahoma City as 12 to 1 favorites. The Thunder are fourth overall, ranking behind third place favorite, the Cleveland Cavs.
Saturday night’s Thunder vs. Spurs game gets started at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. The live televised game coverage will be exclusively available for United States viewers on TNT. A live streaming online feed of the game is available to U.S. cable or satellite subscribers through the TNTDrama website or WatchTNT apps. SlingTV also offers a free seven day trial of their live stream service which includes TNT on the main channel package. For live audio coverage, Sirius XM Satellite Radio listeners should check out channel 207 for San Antonio commentary or channel 80 for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
