This is why Trump must be stopped.
As you would imagine, the man who could be the next President of the United States of America has blown his big orange nose all over the U.S. Constitution.
Once again Donald Trump has mentioned that he would like to violate the First Amendment rights of millions of American citizens.
Hours ago there was an ISIS terrorist attack in Belgium. Trump, who has probably set a world record for most interviews since June 2015, told a FOX anchor while discussing the attack that we need to use surveillance to find out what’s going on in the mosques.
You may be so sucked into Trumps vortex that you would blindly suggest that Mr. Trump is right. You just can’t accept the truth that in America, the minority of terrorist attacks have been committed by Muslims. Remember, minority is the least amount. That means regular Americans commit the most acts of terrorism. So to take away the majority of Muslim American’s first Amendment right, is wrong in every which way.
As Americans of all religions and no religions we are protected with this precious antique. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
If we ignore the Constitution for millions of members of religion A, how long until the practice is applied to religion B? If more nut jobs who claim to worship Jesus commit terrorist acts against our countrymen, will we spy on southern Baptist churches? Will we use government espionage to target pastors? Will you support the raping of our rights?
We either live by our Constitution, or we don’t. If you support giving the Federal Government the power to infringe on our religious rights and our freedom of speech, then you are in every aspect, the exact opposite of an American patriot.
How did the Tea Party, the self-proclaimed champion of American patriotism, morph from the “we’re strict constitutionalist” party to the “hey, democracy is overrated” party?
Since when was it cool for conservatives to endorse a man who thinks Eminent Domain is delightful?
How can a true patriot defend a man who campaigns that he is above our laws because is the smartest man in America, after all, he graduated from Wharton business school?
How can a Christian conservative back a man who couldn’t name a Bible verse, then incorrectly referred to a Bible chapter and suggest he has never needed to ask God for forgiveness? You know, a tenet of the Christian faith.
Over and over Trump has changed his views, I’m talking about during the election cycle not before. He has flip-flopped more than Payless.
He uses Twitter to harass media figures and claims to want to CHANGE the laws so he can sue news organizations that write stories about him that he doesn’t like.
Trump says he will throw natural-born American citizens out of the country if their parents are illegal immigrants. A President should never have the power to throw citizens out of the country.
That’s a dictatorship not a democracy.
Trump sounds like a broken record. His speeches are all over the place and completely incoherent, but if you listen carefully, he believes that the problems we face as a Nation are all due to stupid leaders. For Trump, a business man with bold claims of being a master negotiator, the problem is with management.
His solution for a better America is a stronger government. Better leaders running the government.
The problem is government, period. We don’t need the government to be our glorious leader. We need the Government out of the people’s way.
Isn’t that at the core of conservatism?
