As visual evidence confirmed, ‘Victor Newman’ (aka Eric Braeden) recently appeared with Hillary Clinton. But, does that photo indicate a political endorsement? Viewers of ‘The Young and the Restless’ aren’t sure what ‘Nikki’ (Melody Thomas Scott) will think of her husband’s latest foray into the public arena. However, they, like ‘Mrs. Newman’ are powerless to block the ‘Mustache’ from doing as he wishes.
How ironic that one of America’s greatest businessmen doesn’t appear to be supporting one of the candidates in the Grand Old Party. ‘Victor’ always acts in the best interests of Newman Enterprises. In this instance, it appears as though he believes that his multinational corporation’s vision will be served if he supports the two-time (2008, 2006) Democratic candidate for President. Unless he’s simply hedging his bets?
‘Victor’s’ impulsive outreach to the Santori family has proved disastrous. Even ‘Adam’s’ (Justin Hartley) help failed to be effective, as father and son weren’t able to extricate ‘Luca’ (Miles Gaston Villanueva) from their lives. So, it’s possible that the head of Newman Enterprises has telegraphed a future move by supporting this high-profile member of the political class.
Light-hearted YR fans, who don’t take the show, themselves, or the words within this digital space too seriously, surely know that this feature was written in jest. Of course, the photo that fronted this article features Braeden at Clinton’s book signing in Los Angeles, California, circa June 2014. This scribe respects everyone who participates in the political process, regardless of affiliation because those individuals embody democracy in action. And, in order to offer equal time, it should be noted that the next YR feature will suggest that ‘Victor’ might be on the ticket of the other major party that wasn’t mentioned.
