The Tenth Life cat rescue’s 2016 plant sale is coming up! Plant orders for the annual fundraiser are being accepted now, and the order forms with payment are due by Mar 19, 2016 (this allows The Tenth Life to qualify for an early-order discount offered by Furst Florist). Orders will, of course, be accepted at any time, even if you miss this deadline.
The Tenth Life will amend their orders to accommodate your needs – if you want plants not listed on the order blank, simply add them, and if Furst has these plants, The Tenth Life will have them for you. If you prefer, The Tenth Life can check with Furst on availability ahead of time and get back to you with the information. The Tenth Life always keeps a copy of your previous year’s order, so this will help you if you choose to order the same plants this year.
The Tenth Life is Dayton’s largest no-kill cat (and a few dogs!) shelter and the annual plant sale is one of their biggest fundraisers. All of the plants are supplied by local Furst nursery, and a huge selection of flowers (both annuals and perennials), vegetable plants, herbs, and hanging baskets; mixed flowering pots and patio pots will be available. The order form with the vast selection and prices can be found here (scroll down!). If there is a plant that you want that is not listed, please contact The Tenth Life at (937) 376-5550 and they will check with Furst and get back to you with the availability and price of your desired plant(s).
Plants will be ready for pickup from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on May 3 (just in time for Mother’s Day!) and during those same hours for each weeknight thereafter. Saturday hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 12:30 to 5 p.m. You can complete your Mother’s Day shopping, get a jump start on this year’s garden and help raise funds for the shelter at the same time.
Additional order forms can be downloaded from The Tenth Life website or you can call them and they will send you extra forms. If you miss the March 14 deadline, The Tenth Life will have two to three thousand dollars’ worth of extra plants on hand for your shopping convenience.
