The Rockies will spend opening day on the road, playing the Arizona Diamond Backs on Monday, April 4. But not to worry! On Friday, April 8, the Rockies will take on the San Diego Padres for the home opener at Coors Field.
As you’re headed downtown for the game, stop in along the way at Hopdoddy Burger Bar and enjoy some games, prizes, and pulls from the special handles set up at the game-day Beer Garden outside on the sunny street-side patio. In further celebration of the home opener, Hopdoddy is featuring the Purple Haze specialty shake all month long. Made entirely in-house, it’s a creamy combination of organic scratch blueberry compote and housemade spiced ice cream swirled with hazelnuts and piled high with whipped cream. Try ordering it “boozy” – a good dose of Chambord or Stranahan’s Whiskey is a must-have add in for this purple shake.
In celebration of the Rockies’ return, range downtown will offer a grilled jalapeño elk brat with a range sauerkraut and Colorado craft beer special for the week of Opening Day.
Prefer a caffeine pick-me-up before the game? illy caffé, located within the Renaissance Denver Downtown, will also be opening its outdoor space on Monday, April 4. Enjoy an authentic Italian coffee on the patio of the first free-standing illy caffé in Colorado before making your way to the stadium.
On Opening Day — and during every home or away Rockies game — Tamayo will offer a $6 Coors Light and Tamayo Dog special in the bar, lounge and rooftop patio. The Tamayo Dog is wrapped in bacon and topped with chipotle rouille, pickled chiles and black bean puree.
Beginning Opening Day, and available all season long, Hotel Teatro will offer their “Catch Me at Coors” package. In addition to overnight accommodation, it includes:
- Welcome ballpark snacks, including house-made soft pretzels and smoked shelled peanuts.
- Two cold draft beers from The Nickel, and two branded Nickel pint glasses
- Two tickets to the National Ballpark Museum.
The concierge can also arrange for tickets to a Colorado Rockies game at Coors Field, which is located just blocks from the hotel, although the tickets are not included in the package price.
