If you have been watching this seasons Housewives of Beverly Hills, you know that this years reunion is sure to be an emotional and wild. From accusations of manipulation to disputes about the level of health of others and who said what.
Each year at the reunion of the Housewives there is always one women who is brought up to the sacrifice table. Sometimes it’s due to the fact that the pack simply dislikes a new member while others is the person’s own wrong doing.
However, this year Lisa Vanderpump seems to be the woman of the hour that will get the brunt of whip. The last episode of the season leads you to believe that the women with the exception of Kyle Richards, has had enough of the manipulation and lies. If you have been unaware of the manipulation so far, here is just a glimpse. On the very last episode Lisa became aware that many of the girls were talking about her never apologizing or owning her past indiscretions. So, on her way out she makes an effort to apologize to one of Kyle’s friends. This apology was very quick but seemed to be strategic and even a bit sincere.
Through the years we have watched Lisa Vanderpump spit out her views and comments in a non threatening way that seem to make a joke of things while still giving a slight jab to someone else. We have also watched her ask hot button questions to the group and then sit back and watch the fireworks. Which if were honest almost everyone of the woman have been guilty of starting a conversation that they know will not end well. Especially, Kyle Richards who loves to stir the pot between others in the past and now does her best to inquire with a softer step.
The reason VanderPump is in the hot seat this year, is because she has failed to do two things. The first is own up to what she has said or done. She is very good at turning it around and making you think that it’s all your fault. And the second is not apologizing. Her apologies never seem to be sincere. They deflect and negate anything the other person has said.
Oddly, I am actually a big fan of Lisa VanderPump. She is well mannered, stylish , loves and supports animals. But, like many of her viewers I think this year we have grown a bit cold to her ways. But, as soon as she owns her deeds and apologizes I think both the viewers and the ladies will welcome her back though a bit hesitant.
You might not think that we can learn anything from a drama filled television show like Housewives, but the truth is that there is much to learn about communication. How and why we communicate with others is an important key to our lives. We all know people who manipulate or never apologize. We have also been guilty ourselves of the same deeds. If we can watch the show with a glass of wine and a grain of salt we can learn from it.
We can take moments of pain and learn what not to do to our friends. We can be reminded that we are all human and although we know each other we don’t always know what is going on behind closed doors or what that person is going through.
Remember always, compassion for others. Love for ourselves. Be kind to each other.
