It is getting really ugly between presidential candidates Marco Rubio and Donald Trump. The punches came out as insults were hurled at one another both during the most recent debate and even afterward. Rubio was questioning why Trump was not releasing his tax returns. While Trump called Rubio a choke artist. Rubio also criticized Trump for repeating himself, which is sort of funny considering that Rubio was accused of doing the same thing in a debate earlier this month. We are all well aware that Rubio’s father was a bartender and his mother was a maid. And then there was the comment that Trump had been fined for hiring illegal people to work on one of his projects. To which Trump responded that Rubio had never hired anyone ever.
The feud has continued beyond the debate and now Rubio is accusing Trump of being a con man and making typos on his tweets despite graduating from the Wharton School of Finance. Which some of these comments are starting to sound a bit childish and as if Rubio is reaching for whatever insults he can find to fling at Trump. Meanwhile, Trump came back with statements like Rubio looked like a little boy and would be a horrible president.
But, as always, Trump gets the last word. In a strategic move, Chris Christi came out to endorse Donald Trump surely putting a spur in Rubio’s saddle. As we have previously seen with other candidates, for some reason, when they go on the attack after Trump it usually ends up backfiring on them and doing more harm to their campaign than to Mr. Trumps.
It will be interesting to see if Rubio’s attacks help or hurt Donald Trump. We will find out for sure if it did or not during the Super Tuesday elections coming up soon.
