In an effort to help America get fit, a corporate vs. corporate wellness competition, The Biggest Loser Community Challenge, begins on February 29 In this challenge businesses are encouraged to form teams of four and register them to represent their company in the challenge. The teams join an online health and wellness community with the goal of improving their health through competition.
A study conducted by Biggest Loser corporate surveyed over 1,150 employees across the country and found that 58% of company workers said they would feel extra motivated to improve their health if their wellness initiatives were part of a competitive environment, particularly if it were against other companies in their local regions or their own industries. 62% of respondents also said that would likely continue their wellness program if they were competing against others. With this information The Biggest Loser Challenge was born and will launch on February 29.
There is no limit to the number of teams that a company can register and teams can be at all levels of fitness. Past contestants of “The Biggest Loser” will mentor and guide the teams through the eight weekly challenges. Biggest Loser personal trainer, Dolvett Quince will also help motivate challenge participants and offer nutrition tips.

Participants will earn points for each minute of activity that they engage in and additional points for completing weekly tasks and logging additional challenge activities. These activities are designed to improve the nutrition and overall wellness of the challenge participants. Participants have access to their own private wellness account and mobile app. With these tools they will record challenge activities, receive their weekly health mentoring, and can check on their competitors via live Leaderboards. This is a unique and interactive wellness initiative.
According to Biggest Loser Corporate, the mission and focus of the challenge is not specifically for weight loss. This is a health and wellness community initiative focusing on overall health and wellness in a competitive environment and all personal information, including weight will be kept completely private.
Challengers will be able to win prizes during the challenge, 10,000 prizes are to be awarded across the country through weekly prize drawings. Prizes include trips to Los Angeles to attend “The Biggest Loser” Live Finale.
