Everyone has their springtime rituals. Whether it may be planting flowers or attending a Major League spring training baseball game, there exists some reason to get out of the house and enjoy the weather. The folks at Encanterra Country Club in San Tan Valley have had the right springtime idea for years. Hold a beer and wine festival along with some great music.
This year’s Good Life Festival at Encanterra continues in their tradition of bringing top notch music to San Tan Valley. On March 5, 2016, the Good Life Festival presents the Grammy® Award-winning sibling trio The Band Perry. A few weeks later, on April 16, 2016, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, Heart, will perform.
This year’s headliners are family affairs. The Band Perry is comprised of frontwoman Kimberly Perry and her brothers Reid and Neil. Heart is the collaboration of sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson. Keeping it all in the family has had its rewards.
In addition to their 2015 Grammy® Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, The Band Perry has earned multiple awards from The Country Music Association, CMT Music Awards, the American Country Awards and the Academy of Country Music. Additionally, they have received multiple nominations from the American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, People’s Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards, and The American Country Countdown Awards.
Although Heart may not have a Grammy® Award win on their resume, they do have what few artists attain, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That and having sold over 35 million albums with 22 songs in Billboard’s Top 50 including “Magic Man,” “Barracuda,” “Alone” and “What About Love,” justifies why Heart continues to sell out their appearances.
Opening for The Band Perry on March 5 will be country music artist Logan Mize. Mize’s second album, 2012’s “Nobody in Nashville,” rose to number 49 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart.
In addition to music, both days of the Good Life Festival will feature specialty artisan shopping, wine and craft beer tasting, massage demos and a variety of food offerings from local vendors and food trucks.
Things get started at noon on March 5, with wine tasting events in the model homes. Gates for the music venue will open at 2 p.m. The tentative music schedule has The Anglim Sisters performing at 2:30 p.m., Tami Austin performing at 3:40 p.m., Logan Mize hitting the stage at 4:50 p.m. and The Band Perry starting at 6:20 p.m.
Likewise for Heart’s April 16 appearance, wine tasting begins at noon, with gates to the music venue opening at 2 p.m. Local acts will be taking the stage from 2:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Heart is scheduled to begin their set at 6 p.m.
Tickets for The Band Perry’s March 5 appearance are priced from $35 to $75 for reserved seats and $32 for lawn seating. Tickets for Heart on April 16 run from $40 to $80 for reserved seats and $32 for general admission lawn seating. Tickets are available online through the Good Life Festival’s website.
