Teresa Giudice finally received clearance to visit her husband Joe Giudice in jail according to Us Weekly. April 18, 2016.
On Friday, April 15, Teresa traveled to the Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution to visit her husband Joe. The drive is a little over 90 minutes from her estate in Franklin Lakes. This is the first visit that Teresa has made to visit Joe in prison since he entered in March. Teresa was not immediately cleared for visitation privileges because she recently served most of 2015 in jail and she was released on December 23 of the same year and then she was under house arrest until Feb. 5, 2016.
A source told People Magazine, “She was so happy to see him. It was a very emotional visit.” However, the source added, “Joe is doing well, but really misses Teresa and the girls.”
The source told Et Online, “Everyone is adjusting well to the situation, even Joe. He is handling prison well and has a positive mindset.”
When Teresa went to prison, their four daughters took the news hard. It was a very difficult time for the girls to visit their mother for a little while then have to leave. However, this seemed to help them adjust to their father’s leaving a bit better.
“It’s been a little easier this time around, especially for the girls. They knew what to expect. Is it still hard and sad? Of course it is. But they’re doing the best they can.”
James J. Leonard told E! News that Teresa is a strong foundation for Joe, just like he was her rock when she was sentenced to serve jail time. “They’re a very strong family and they’re holding together the best they can.”
Mr. Leonard previously told People “The staff and administration at Fort Dix have all been very pleasant to deal with; they are all extremely professional,”
Shortly after Joe surrendered himself at the Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution, Teresa made a short video give her fans a sincere thank you because they stuck by them during this emotional crisis.
“I just want to say thank you so much to all my fans out there. All your love and support means the world to me and my family. It has been a difficult week for us, but we’re making it through, thank God. Joe’s doing as well as expected. Of course, we spoke to him. And I just want to say thank you again from the bottom of my heart for being there, and for all your beautiful tweets. Love, love, love you from my family to yours.”
