Tonight’s big episode is the last of the season before the two-hour “Survivor: Cambodia” Finale next Wednesday, Dec 16. Heading into tonight, we still have seven contestants looking to make good on their Survivor second chance: Jeremy, Spencer, Tasha, Abi, Kimmi, Keith and Kelley. Will a “voting block” form once again tonight, or will these players finally decide upon a Final Three alliance? Will either Jeremy or Kelley use their hidden Immunity Idols? Will the drama this season continue or will the wind be let out of the sails of this – dare I say – great season?
All good questions heading into tonight’s penultimate episode. Here is the official synopsis from CBS:
Episode 13 – “Villains Have More Fun” – With the end in sight, castaways scramble to solidify a plan for the final three. Also, a frightening incident at the immunity challenge sends shockwaves through the entire tribe, and castaways are rewarded with a spiritual recharge at the temples of Cambodia, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, Dec. 9 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Analysis. Tasha last week pretty much answered the question of “which side is she on” when deciding against the all-girl alliance, by outing that plan to the boys…however in a season of “voting blocks,” that doesn’t mean that the girls won’t unify for tonight’s vote. If they do, you would have to think at this point that Jeremy and Spencer will be their targets over Keith…so Jeremy’s Idol could loom large should he catch wind of an all-girl block.
More likely though, is that Tasha will stay loyal to Jeremy and Spencer. They will most definitely want to target Kelley, who also has an Idol. That’s why this season is so great: The predictability factor has been about zero all season long. I believe it’s more likely that Jeremy would go home with an Idol in his pocket than Kelley, who you’d have to say is probably more likely to play her Idol, since she knows she is on the bottom. But that being said, I still don’t think that Jeremy will be in real danger because I do believe Tasha is loyal to him.
The Idols become increasingly important and interesting the more the numbers dwindle. Remember though, that usually you cannot use the hidden Idol once there are four left in the game, so these Idols will be coming into play soon. The only other play I see tonight, is possibly targeting Kimmi…if Spencer thinks that he has Keith firmly in his pocket, that still gives them the majority (Jeremy, Spencer, Tasha and Keith). If Kelley were to win Immunity, or if they catch word of her Idol, they might try to blindside Kimmi, who they now know was plotting against them with the all-girl alliance idea.
Working against everybody is that the conditions continue to play a factor this season…it looks like tonight will bear another grueling challenge that might end in another medical situation, or even a rescue situation, as it appears Tasha begins panicking while out in the water. In any case, I bet that Day 39 can’t get here quick enough for these Final Seven.
