We’re two weeks in to what Supernatural fans call “Hellatus” and Wednesdays are becoming increasingly painful. One would think that after 11 seasons of the CW hit show that viewers would be used to the wait. This is definitely not the case. Fans still have four more weeks until the mid-season premiere of season 11 on Jan 20, 2016. Getting through this time period can be challenging—especially on Wednesdays when the show normally airs. Reruns can ease the pain somewhat, but the “Hellatus” continues. We left off on Dec 9, 2015 with the episode ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’ The Darkness, Amara, has left a trail of bodies attempting to get God’s attention. With a connection that is only growing in strength, Dean ends up succumbing to a kiss from Amara just before the angels laid down the law. Is Amara gone? Doubt it. Then there is poor Sammy who, after enlisting Crowley and Rowena’s help to set up a meeting with Lucifer, to no surprise, things did not go as planned. We’re we left Sam saying no to Lucifer on his request to hitch a ride topside. With a “single man tear” falling down the younger Winchester’s face, fans caught their breath with fear knowing that he was once again the Devil’s bunk buddy.
Diehard fans share how they cope with so many weeks without their favorite show.
Marcy La Rue: “Watch it every night before I go to bed–oh wait–that’s how I get through every day!”
John Ward: “Paint sigils on the walls; pour lines of salt in front of every window and door.”
Kelli Anne: “Cry.”
Savy Faith Overturf: “Curl up in a ball and never leave my house—stare at the TV the whole time. JK”
Karla Katt: “Make my family crazy by sharing Sam and Dean stories. Yes, yes they are real!”
Jay Jaay: “Wrap myself up in a feels burrito and cry to sleep, lol!”
Brook Lenderman: “Watch a lot of reruns!”
Charlie Hersman: “Netflix. Ten seasons. Just wrapping up watching through number three.”
Melody Deel: “Go see Star Wars.”
Brandi Pettit Walstrom: “Watch TNT.”
Although it seems like forever, Supernatural will return in less than a month with the new episode ‘The Devil in the Details.’ According to Three If By Space.net ‘The Devil in the Details’ looks to be one of those funny yet painful episodes. Lucifer plays Santa Claus? The sneak peak grows even stranger with Crowley in footy pajamas opening presents with his mom, Rowena, and gets excited to find he got a Sam Pop Vinyl figure. Of course the best part is the promise of another episode with favorite guest actor Mark Pellegrino. January 20th cannot come soon enough!
