Are you ready for Super Bowl Sunday? Have you made plans to attend a Super Bowl 50 party or host one of your own? A large percentage of the population does, indeed, spend Super Bowl Sunday in the company of friends and family, often in someone’s home residence. But the nice thing about living in a large city is that Super Bowl action exists all over town with plenty of excitement in store for the big game on February 7, 2016 between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos. Here are three places to consider for your out- of- the- home Super Bowl festivities:
Royal Sonesta Houston, Axis Lounge– located at 2222 West Loop South in Houston’s Galleria, Axis Lounge will feature drink specials for fans of the two respective teams. Those cheering for the Panthers can feast their senses on the Sweet Caroline, a cocktail made with Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, and a splash of water. If the Broncos are your team, then ask for a Bronco Sour, a drink made using Pura Vida Tequila, blood orange liqueur, sweet and sour mix, and a splash of grenadine. Each drink is priced at $10 and will be available throughout the game.
Pour Society– this gastropub is located at 947 Gessner, Suite B190, near the Memorial City Mall and management plans a Super Bowl feast with bargain prices on food and drink. Seventeen television screens will be tuned into the game, practically guaranteeing a good seat from any section of the pub. Pour Society specials will include $2 on select beers, 75 cent wings, plus two special food offerings courtesy of Chef Greg Lowry: Denver Green Chili made with pork and green chili plus Carolina barbecue sandwiches made with smoked pork shoulder combined with Carolina vinegar sauce.
The West End– venture a little bit west of the Galleria to 5320 Westheimer road and you will arrive on the steps of The West End. This popular pub will broadcast the game and, if weather permits, customers are welcome to enjoy the fresh air on the outdoor patio while they eat, drink, and cheer their favorite team to victory. The West End is adding a little more fun to the event, hosting a game of Bingo and offering guests a chance to win assorted prizes that include free cocktails, beer, and food.
Super Bowl Sunday is a day to party and residences across this great land of ours will be packed with people of all ages, eating, drinking, and enjoying each other’s company while the 50th edition of the NFL’s big game is broadcast to the world. If your plans are flexible or if you feel like getting away and meeting new people, consider a Super Bowl Sunday of fun, food, and booze at Royal Sonesta Houston, Pour Society, or The West End. Great eats, drinks, and the excitement of the Super Bowl await and these three pubs are ready to graciously host you and yours for an unforgettable evening of sports and fun.
