One of the best things about summer is the carefree nights spent with friends and family in the outdoors, but it’s no secret that flying pests can ruin even the most tranquil patio party. Don’t let pests take away your summer fun, call on Stinger for chemical-free insect solutions.
Stinger offers a variety of products, but two of the most popular are the larger 5-in-1 Mosquito Kill System and the smaller Insect Zapper Lantern.
The 5-in-1 model, as the name suggests, combines five different elimination methods to combat mosquitos and other pests: Black UV light, LED lights, thermal and octenol lures, and a clog-free kill grid. The combination has been proven to attract twice as many mosquitos as typical kill systems.
The 5-in-1 system, which uses a standard electrical plug, covers up to one acre and is ideal for yard areas. The black UV light technology attracts and eliminates up to 40 percent more flying insects than systems without the black UV light. The sundown sensor automatically turns the energy efficient unit on at dusk and off at dawn. Additionally, the system comes equipped with the NOsquito Octenol lure, which attracts mosquitos to the zapper.
I recently had the opportunity to give the 5-in-1 system a try and was quite pleased with the product. It preformed as promised and for around $80, it’s a good option for chemical-free pest control.
Stinger also offers a smaller, more compact solution for flying pests. The Insect Zapper Lantern offers the same black UV light technology as the 5-in-1 model, but also offers a rechargeable, portable option. This unit, which retails for around $30, covers up to 625 square feet and runs about three and a half hours on a single three-hour charge, making it ideal for patio settings and campgrounds.
In addition to Stinger bug zappers, the following steps can be taken to eliminate mosquitos before they become a problem.
Get rid of standing water, making sure to check places like kiddie pools and overturned trash can lids. Mosquitos love stagnant and slow-flowing water and female mosquitoes can lay 100 to 300 eggs at a time in standing water.
Reduce the amount of skin you leave exposed by wearing long-sleeved shirts and pants. If they can’t get to your skin, they can’t bite you.
Keep mosquitos outside of your home by using screens on windows and doors.
