The St. Joseph’s vs. Oregon live stream online and televised 2016 NCAA Tournament game arrives on Sunday night with the winner moving on to the Sweet 16 round. It will feature an overachieving No. 8 seed Hawks team trying to take down a No. 1-seeded Oregon Ducks squad that’s on a roll since winning the Pac-12 Championship and blowing out Holy Cross in the first round. Now they’ll try to stave off the upset-minded Hawks team that won the Atlantic 10 Championship and then edged Cincinnati in their opening game of the Big Dance. This 2016 NCAA live streaming and televised tournament game arrives through TBS networks on Sunday.
According to ESPN.com in their March 20 game preview, these two teams share striking similarities in that each side has a few star players in the lineups, and are looking to play an uptempo pace with lots of points scored. That could make for a fun and high-scoring game as this No. 8 versus No. 1 seed battle in the West Region takes place. St. Joe’s features star DeAndre’ Bembry who averaged 17.5 points and 7.6 rebounds over this past season. He also was credited with the assist that set up Isaiah Miles to hit a game-winning three-point shot against Cincinnati in the final seconds. Miles has scored in double figures for every Hawks game this past season, making him yet another valuable player in the lineup. He finished with 19 points against the Bearcats in the team’s two-point win.
The Ducks, who went 28-6 this past season, and were the surprise winner of the Pac-12, managed to also surprise many analysts and fans by grabbing a No. 1 seed in the tournament. However, they may have put doubters to rest with their 91-52 opening round win over unlikely tourney entrant Holy Cross. Chris Boucher finished with 20 points to lead the team, while Dwayne Benjamin had 12 off the bench. Starters Dillon Brooks and Elgin Cook each had 11 points as the Ducks shot 55.7 percent from the floor and outrebounded the Crusaders 44-28 for the game. Now they’ll try to keep the momentum going against a St. Joe’s team that has wins over fellow tournament teams VCU, Dayton and Temple this past season.
Odds makers first had Oregon as 6-1/2 point favorites on the spread for tonight’s game, but they’ve since moved up to seven-point favorites. The moneyline shows a price of -330 for the Ducks and an underdog price of +270 for the Hawks. The over/under points total is as high as 157 points for the game, making it one of the highest totals of all the games scheduled on Sunday. In terms of future odds, the Ducks are listed as 15 to 1 favorites to win it all, while St. Joseph’s is a 100 to 1 longshot on Vegas Insider.
