Spring is the time of rebirth and renewal after a long winter – all winters are long even if they don’t include cold and a lot of snow. It is time to renew yourself. Head to Clayton, NY and the beautiful 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel’s for their Spring Fling Wellness weekend. Yogis (newbies and advanced) are invited to join Liz Price-Kellogg and Kristen Taylor, authors of For the Love of Food and Yoga: A Celebration of Mindful Eating and Being, April 22-24 for a weekend of yoga, meditation, cooking instruction paired with mindful eating practices and more.
All retreat guests will kick-off the weekend on April 22 with a signed copy of the best-selling book For the Love of Food and Yoga: A Celebration of Mindful Eating and Being, locally-sourced snacks, journals for reflecting on the weekend and coupons for local shops. Participants will get to know each other at a welcome dinner featuring original vegetarian, vegan or raw recipes from Price-Kellogg and Taylor’s book, and will have the chance to chat with the authors. Friday night will come to a close with a Full Moon Meditation overlooking the glorious St. Lawrence River.
Wake-Up Yoga on Saturday morning will have guests ready to tackle the day, followed by a wholesome breakfast. Throughout the day a selection of optional activities will be available to participants, including cooking demonstrations, reflection and journaling, spa treatments, Mandala Painting with Christine Tisa, and a tour of Zenda Farms Preserve and the MacFarlane Trail. Lunch and dinner will be provided. The day comes to a close with live music, book signings and tea tastings by Finger Lakes Tea. On Sunday morning, guests will reflect on the weekend with a Farewell Yoga session followed by breakfast. Before check-out guests can spend the afternoon designing their own St. Larry’s River Organic Wellness Products with therapeutic essential oils or enjoy a one-hour on-site spa service.
