Coming off this success their recent EP, “Never Too Late,” Baltimore rockers Silvertung announce the release of “Face The Music” the first single from the band’s forth-coming album ‘Out of the Box.’ Silvertung is the creation of vocalist Speed, the lead guitarist Codey, Skoot on bass, and drummer Danno. The band has built a tremendous local reputation on the strength of their live show, which earned them the opportunity to perform at the 2015 Shindig Music Festival in Baltimore. The band has shared the stage with some of the biggest national acts, including Godsmack, Disturbed, Shinedown, Slipknot, Staind, Papa Roach, Buckcherry, Filter, Drowning Pool, and P.O.D. to name a few.
The song “Face The Music” is now available on iTunes, check it out in the above video clip. If the rest of the album is anything like the hard, gritty sound of “Face The Music,” Silvertung has a sure fire hit on their hands, ‘Out of the Box’ was produced by Steven Wright, a man who has worked with everyone from Slipknot to Avril Lavigne. Guitarist Codey spoke of him saying, “Steven pushed us. He came to our rehearsal space to work with us on the material. Steven watched, listened and pushed us. He knew how to bring out the best in the material we’ve been writing.”
“The title came from something our manager kept telling us, to think out of the box. We’ve been experimenting with new ideas during our writing process,” said lead vocalist Speed. He continued, “For the first time we walked away from the studio after recording the first two tracks, feeling like we really gave it all we have.” Bass player Skoot said, “We always look to raise the bar with everything we do as a band. We always try to one up ourselves. ‘Out Of The Box’ is a big accomplishment for ourselves.” Drummer Danno commented, “I love the aggressive presentation of the new tracks and yet they retain some melodic elements. I feel our overall performance went to another level too. The first track, “Face The Music” sticks to the point, in your face without meandering.”
Director Wade Spencer commented on how he really enjoyed working with the guys. He said they had so much energy. Even the editing process was fun, for once he actually not sick of listening to a song after the edit. Spencer chose to shoot the video for “Face The Music” at the studio where Silvertung recorded the latest tracks to give fans an idea of what it’s like for the band at the studio and during rehearsal.
