It was a sad Valentine’s Day for Shinedown’s lead singer Brent Smith, according to his Q&A Twitter feed on February 14, 2016. Although, we’re sure the news caught the attention of Shinedown’s female fans and spread like a wildfire.
On Sunday, Smith hosted a Q&A for his fans on Twitter, something he loves to do. When one fan asked him if he was married, this was his reply:
… No, I’m also single… FYI… RT @jenncory1: @TheBrentSmith are you married?
Smith and Teresa Collier met several years ago when she was Shinedown’s touring merchandise girl. The couple shared a home and numerous animals together, but did not have any children. Brent has one son, Lyric, from a previous relationship.
While Smith’s heart is breaking, so many single ladies out there who want to throw themselves at him. Ladies, remember, famous or not, Brent Smith is a man who is trying to heal from a broken heart. Teresa is an awesome lady and it would be disrespectful to the both of them. Social media makes it easy for folks to speak out, but think about your latest break-up. Now, imagine what it would be like if it were very, very public. Stay classy ladies, it will get you so much further in life.
Shinedown Nation fan club members ask that you life him up in his time of pain and healing and be respectful with your words and actions. Teresa was an awesome friend to the fan club and supported so many of them. Many are very saddened by the news.
Meanwhile, Shinedown leads in active rock radio three weeks running for “State of My Head,” according to Headline Planet. With 2,122 spins for the week of February 7-13, this is the third week in a row the song was #1 on the listing. While the numbers are down from last week, they still power the competitor by 500.
Shinedown just returned from touring the UK and are back on American soil making the rounds; they’ll head back overseas for dates mid-summer. Check their website for dates.
