In the last month, Saosin has not only confirmed the release of a brand new record, but also unveiled two tracks which will be featured on the impending release. On Wednesday (April 27), the California-based band premiered another new track from their upcoming release, Along the Shadow. The new song is titled “Control and the Urge to Pray” and premiered exclusively on Billboard.
The new clip finds the band, including recently returned original vocalist Anthony Green, performing in what appears to be a rehearsal space. The music video for this new song is similar to the ones that were released for “Racing Toward a Red Light” and “The Silver String.” during a sit down interview with Billboard, bassist Chris Sorenson explained how this song ended up on the album.
“This was a song that we knew we had to see through,” explains Sorenson. “The demo started off very differently and we were unsure if it would fit into the way the record was shaping. But once vocals were demoed and a few things were moved around we knew that it was something very powerful.” Check out the music video for “Control and the Urge to Pray” above.
“Control and the Urge to Pray” will join “Racing Toward a Red Light” and “The Silver String” on the band’s third studio album, Along the Shadow. Along the Shadow is set to be released on May 20 through Epitaph Records and is the follow-up to the band’s 2009 album, In Search of Solid Ground. In support of the new record, the band will be hitting the road this summer on Taste of Chaos alongside Taking Back Sunday and Dashboard Confessional. Tour dates for that can be found here.
