As February approaches, romance is in the air – from coast to coast. Here are some of my favorite Valentine’s Day destinations and what they’re offering.
The Edgewater Hotel, Seattle
The “Love on The Edge” package is available through Feb. 28, starting at $2,499 and includes Penthouse accommodations featuring sweeping Puget Sound views with wall to wall windows throughout, complete with dinner for two at Six Seven Restaurant (www.edgewaterhotel). The waterfront hotel has hosted some of the biggest names in music, including the Beatles and Led Zeppelin.

Post a selfie with a loved one to receive a complimentary signature “Between the Sheets” rum libation from Rum Row, The Gates’ own prohibition-themed bar.

TPC Sawgrass – Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
The famed northeast Florida resort is offering a “Links of Love” package, available throughout the entire month of February. LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort, Naples, Fla.
On Florida’s southwest coast, the resort offers an all-inclusive “Champagne Wishes” escape through Feb. 29, starting at $18,000 (laplayaresort.com).
Couples will receive one-day aboard a private chartered yacht and three-nights in beachfront suite accommodations. Following limo service from the airport, LaPlaya greets guests upon check-in with an iced magnum of Veuve Clicquot and two Swarovski crystal champagne flutes, before they board a 48-foot private chartered yacht.
Back on dry land, there is dinner at BALEEN, followed by a beachside fire pit, reserved with chilled champagne. Daily in-room breakfast is provided, complete with mimosas.
Mahekal Beach Resort, Playa del Carmen
Playa del Carmen’s newest resort is offering the “Magical Mahekal Experience,” starting at $477/night, for stays Feb. 12-14, 2016.
The package includes palapa-style bungalow accommodations — complete with exclusivity, stunning views, personal plunge pools, hammocks and private open-air terraces. Guests head to one of three on-property restaurants for a “wine &dine” affair, to indulge in premium dinner upgrades to Caribbean Lobster, Angus Beef Filet, Grilled Seabass or Jumbo Shrimp with garlic sauce and can relax at the new Mayan-inspired Revive Spa. For those looking for more of a thrill, couples can experience aquatic adventures at Vida Aquatica Dive Center on-property, as well as select Riviera Maya tours, including a visit to the Mayan Ruins, adventures and zip-lines in the jungle, swimming in cenotes and horseback riding tours.
Nestled between the dense Riviera Maya jungle and Playa del Carmen’s longest stretch of beach, spanning 920 feet, the resort is the only one of its kind in all of Playa del Carmen with hand-laid, hidden stone pathways leading to all palapa-style bungalow accommodations, all less than a two-minute walk from the beach (www.mahekalbeachresort.com).
Omni Orlando Resort & Villas, Orlando
Located on Orlando’s west side only a few minutes from the theme parks, Omni Orlando Resort & Villas at ChampionsGate is one of Central Florida’s top destination resorts. Its “Retreat to Romance package’’ package is available through Dec. 30 and includes accommodations; $100 cuisine and cocktail credit, per stay; a bottle of Chandon sparkling wine delivered to room upon arrival; and concierge pre-call to assist with special touches and personal requests
Omni Orlando Resort has two golf courses, the David Leadbetter Golf Academy, full service MOKARA spa, two heated outdoor pools, 850-foot lazy river, two-and three-bedroom villas, five restaurants and 15 acres of pools and recreation.
Little Palm Island, Fla.
One of the more exclusive retreats in the Southeast. Little Palm Island’s “Love, Island Style” package, available through Feb. 29 and starting at $7,185/per three-night stay features three nights accommodations in a transformed Island Bungalow — complete with dimly lit candles, rose petals, hand-selected roses, and a chilled bottle of Laurent Perrier “Grand Siecle” Champagne.
