Rogue Ales (Newport, Oregon) recently announced that they will be releasing Cold Brew IPA as a limited release beginning in April.
Cold Brew IPA from Rogue Ales brings together the bold flavors of both amazing cold brew coffee and West Coast hops. This offering boasts a huge coffee presence in flavor and aroma thanks to a blending process that combines the base IPA with Stumptown Coffee Roasters’ Cold Brew Coffee, a product “made with the highest quality coffee, cold-brewed for over 12 hours, and then double filtered for a smooth, complex brew.” These coffee notes are countered with a punch of hops grown at Rogue Farms and selected specifically to “meld with Cold Brew Coffee.” This brew’s dynamic combination of ingredients creates a transition that is “seamless from one bold flavor to the next.”
“These are two of my favorite things,” said Rogue Brewmaster John ‘More Hops’ Maier. “I would describe it as Oregon IPA meets Oregon Cold Brew Coffee.”
This offering will officially hit shelves and taps beginning in April. Cold Brew IPA will be found on draft and in 22 oz. bottles at craft beer-friendly establishments in Alabama and throughout the national distribution footprint of Rogue Ales. Coffee IPAs have been turning up more often over the last year or so, and I have to say the flavors work surprisingly well together. Rogue’s Cold Brew IPA is sure to be a tasty treat, so look for this offering when it drops in a month or so to give it a shot. Prost!
