The Rockets vs. Warriors live stream online and televised Game 5 coverage arrives on Wednesday night as Golden State continues their 2016 NBA Playoffs journey with their top star sidelined. This past week it was determined that reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry would be out for at least two weeks due to a Grade 1 MCL sprain suffered in Game 4 against Houston. With that in mind, many analysts believe that Golden State has what it takes to at least finish off the Rockets. They may have also received luck due to recent injuries to the Los Angeles Clippers, a potential second round opponent. The 2016 NBA live streaming and TV coverage of this latest playoffs game will be available through TNT.
On April 27, The Mercury News reported that the Warriors come into this home game off a 121-94 rout of the Rockets in Houston. Unfortunately with the victory also came a bad incident in the second quarter when Curry slid badly on a wet spot on the court, causing his latest injury. He had just returned to the lineup after suffering a sprained ankle, only to have the newer injury strike. Despite that, his teammates stepped up in his absence with Klay Thompson scoring 23 points and Andre Iguodala coming off the bench to add 22 points. Drayman Green had an impressive stat line of 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
For the Rockets, they may be smelling blood after Curry’s injury, but they still will face a very deep team that could probably make the playoffs without Curry. Houston also had an injury issue in the previous game as Patrick Beverly had to leave the game due to a right hamstring strain. Luckily for Beverly and the Rockets, he’s expected to play tonight. One thing Houston will certainly need to do if they want a chance at the road upset is to cut down on turnovers. They’ve average a little over 19 per game so far in the series. Look for James Harden to continue his scoring prowess and more of the Rockets’ inside attack as well.
Even with Curry out of the lineup, the Golden State Warriors are large favorites at home, with the point spread at 9-1/2 points in their favor. On the moneyline, Golden State is at -500 while Houston is at +400. Tonight’s over/under points total is 213 for the complete game. Many analysts believed that the Spurs might be the team to beat in terms of who will win the championship this postseason, but Golden State is still at +145 at Bovada’s future odds, with San Antonio at +180 and Cleveland at +333. The team which has slipped the most is the Los Angeles Clippers, who now have +10000 odds to win it all.
