The Rockets vs. Warriors live stream online and TV coverage for Game 1 of their 2016 NBA Playoffs series comes just a few days after Golden State made sports history. With a victory at home over the Memphis Grizzlies, Stephen Curry and company took down the previous wins record for a season of 72 set by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls. While that particular accomplishment has been applauded by analysts and fans, some believe it will be meaningless without a championship trophy to cap it off. The Warriors start their pursuit on Saturday as James Harden and Houston visit. This 2016 NBA live streaming and televised game coverage comes via ABC on Saturday afternoon.
According to an ESPN report on April 14, Golden State notched their 73rd victory of the season with a 125-104 win over Memphis at ORACLE Arena this past Wednesday. Stephen Curry led all players with 46 points and also hit his 400th three-point shot of the season in the win. Klay Thompson had 16 points, while Harrison Barnes added 15. Draymond Green, known for his triple-double feats this past season, nearly had one of those, scoring 11 points, snatching nine rebounds and dishing out seven assists. The Warriors shot nearly 53 percent for the game and hit 20-of-47 attempted three pointers. With that record-setting win, the team can now focus on the bigger task at hand: winning a second-straight NBA championship.
First up for the reigning NBA MVP and his crew will be James Harden and the Rockets. During the regular season, Golden State won all three meetings. The closest game was a four-point finish on New Year’s Eve, where Klay Thompson put in a 38-point performance to lead the way. The Warriors never trailed in that game, but were outscored in two of the quarters by Houston. Harden had a 30-point night at home, while teammate Dwight Howard scored 21 points and pulled down 13 boards, while also blocking three shots. Houston also forced the Warriors to make 18 turnovers, something they will want to key in on if they want even a remote chance at trying to upset the NBA’s best team this season.
For Game 1, the point spread has Golden State favored by 13 points at most sports books. On the moneyline, the Houston Rockets are +800 underdogs, while the Warriors are -1400 favorites. The over/under points total is hovering around 225 points for the complete game. As they have for most of the season, Golden State continues to lead all teams on the future odds list to win the NBA Finals. Vegas Insider gives them odds of 1 to 2, while the Rockets are currently 250 to 1 long shots to win it all.
Saturday afternoon’s Rockets vs. Warriors Game 1 is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
