Six of the “Live” photo’s I’ve added to the slideshow were taken one month to the day of Ronnie’s passing. They were taken at the Center for the Arts Theater in Grass Valley CA. on February 3, 2012. The other six “Live” photo’s were taken at Cargo Reno on January 28, 2012. (Before they moved the venue to where it is now).
This examiner was lucky enough to have met Ronnie for the first time on Jan.28, 2012 in Reno while photographing his show at Cargo. I was approved to cover both the Reno and the Grass Valley shows for byteclay.com through his wife Leighsa Montrose.
Before heading to Grass Valley, I got 3 or 4 photo’s printed up (all 11×14) that I took in Reno. I wanted to get Ronnie and the band to sign one of the photo’s for me and one for Cargo, the venue he played at were I took the photo’s.
After the show in Grass Valley ended, I managed to round up the band and got everyone to sign the photo’s. I then got invited into the green room where Ronnie was to get him to sign them too. When I entered the green room, Ronnie welcomed me in and started telling my friend and I how his dog, that he had for a long time had died. You could tell he was upset about losing his best friend, who wouldn’t be, right.
I spent around forty five minutes with Ronnie, talking about his pup and how the tour was going, you know, stuff like that. When Ronnie signed my photo’s, he told me that these were very good photographs, so I told him thank you, but you know, if you had not blown the roof off Cargo in Reno last week, I would not have these photo’s for you to sign, so thank you … We all had a good laugh, shook hands and left.
This is one of those things that you never forget, I remember it in my mind like it just happened yesterday.

Don’t forget to get your tickets for what is expected to be the hottest event of the weekend before they are gone. This is going to be a spectacular show loaded with some of today’s best rockers celebrating the life and music of a legend. The one, the only, Ronnie Montrose.
A great time will definitely be had by all, you can count on that.
As with all this examiners reviews and feature stories, “The Photos Are What It’s All About”, so check out the photo slideshow and enjoy the show.
