New Year, new wardrobe! Re-design your closet for 2016 while re-defining your style with L.A. branded looks. These L.A. based shops serve up West Coast flair with a pinch of modern chic, plus personal style tips for the New Year.
Style Tips for the New Year
Tip #1: Forge a look all your own. With all of the social media platforms like say for instance, Instagram, it’s so easy to spot what’s in style because it seems everyone is copying, ahem- borrowing everyone’s look. A true fashionista forges a look all her own look. She takes the trends and make it bend to her rules! Personal style has got to get, well…personal. Make 2016 the year you aren’t trying to duplicate head to toe what you saw uploaded 4 hours ago. Be you. Make it a habit of developing your own style. Shop around and see what sparks your senses. If an outfit renders you on cloud nine, then chances are you’ll need to snag that look and other similar looks to abide by the mantra “New Year, New You.”
Tip #2: Coordinate Your Closet. You don’t have to wait for spring cleaning to be the it thing to do to clean up your closet. Spend a few minutes or if you have a ton of clothes, shoes, bag etc– a few hours, rearranging your wardrobe. This is time to get rid of (or donate) clothes you know you’re not going to wear anymore and make space for new duds you plan to purchase this season. To keep an orderly closet that’s easy to pick out your wears for the day, line things up based on color, season, or likability (I tend to place the items I like the most towards the back of the closet)
Tip #3: Make a New Year Shopping list. Because taking mental notes doesn’t always work and if you can’t remember the dress you saw, by the time you do, it will already be sold out in your size. What’s more if you are running low on funds, the list will also help you to make smarter choices. Try not to overspend this year. Although quality clothes doesn’t come by cheap, if you know where to look you can work your way around the designer splurge stronghold.
