Grammy award winning singer/songwriter and fashion icon, Rihanna, made her debut visit to Nashville, March 18 on her fourth stop with the ANTI world tour playing at the Bridgestone Arena.
It was a historical and magical night for Music City as the international star delivered on all levels with fashion, vocals, choreography, impressive stage aesthetics, dancers, band and crowd participation. (It felt like being part of a live music video or movie. )
The opening of the show set the tone for the night as Rihanna had fans roaring as she provided a huge surprise entering from the crowd onto a special aerial stage wearing a Craig green coat in stark white, with a Adam Selman silver bodysuit and amazing hip-high Giuseppe Zanotti cream-colored boots with a ruched canvas and belt with loops to hold them up perfectly at her waist. Other fashions included an amazing skintight catsuit that look like it was made for Rihanna, a glamorous jumpsuit designed by Armani Privé featuring beaded fringe that moved as she danced and sparkled under the lights, and the finale look was a olive suit from Y/Project with a La Roxx leather bustier vintage topped off with Christian Dior sunglasses which she tossed out into the crowd.
The international pop princess immediately captured her audience’s full attention performing new songs from the No.1 Billboard chart-topping Anti album and mixed it up with her classic hits like: “Rude Boy,” “Pour It Up,” “Birthday Cake,” “Umbrella,” “Diamonds” and many more (see setlist at bottom of story). Fans and concert-goers literally stood on their feet from the beginning to end of the concert.
The energy in the arena was explosive and contagious as fans danced, yelled, jumped, cheered, took pictures and recited the lyrics to their favorite Rihanna tracks. #RihannaNavy and fans were in full force with a multi-generational diverse crowd displaying their best Rihanna inspired fashion trends, hair and make-up.
Rihanna revealed she was surprised with the love and support she was receiving and stopped at the beginning of the show to thank Nashville and compliment the city by saying, “Nashville is ratchetry.”
Of course, the best moments of the show would have to be the sexy costumes, party portion of the show with amazing choreography, Diamond performance when the crowd lit up the arena, Rihanna getting caught up in fan moment with her Umbrella performance, and Nashville fans expressing pure love for Rihanna.
Overall, it was a mesmerizing night and Nashville fans were excited to experience the beautiful and talented Barbadian princess. The icing on the Nashville cake was Rihanna saying she would definitely be back to visit Nashvillle. The Anti world tour is definitely a show you don’t want to miss in your city!
