The Quick Lane Bowl 2015 live stream online and televised NCAA Bowl game will feature Central Michigan vs. Minnesota on Monday evening. Even though the Gophers finished their season at 5-7, the matchup gives star quarterback Cooper Rush and the 7-5 Chippewas a shot at upsetting a Big Ten powerhouse team. Minnesota will hope to grab a key victory to possibly gain momentum towards next season under their new coach. The NCAA football live streaming and TV coverage will be presented through the ESPN networks as these two teams battle it out under winter weather conditions at Ford Field in Detroit this evening.
According to Detroit Free Press in their Dec. 28 report, the forecast indicates that snow, sleet and freezing rain are heading to the Metro Detroit area. This strong storm could impact those trying to attend the game, as well as the actual play on the field. The expectations are that it will all shift to rain by 8 p.m. ET though. Of note, Central Michigan has familiarity with playing at this particular venue, as they’ve been there a total of eight times. The most recent was their Little Caesar’s Bowl win last year at Ford Field over Western Kentucky, 24-21. They’ll look to their junior quarterback, phenom Cooper Rush, who has tallied 3,703 total yards, 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on a noteworthy season.
As for Minnesota, they last won a bowl game back in December of 2004, with a Music City Bowl game win over Alabama. This season’s team certainly is considered an underachieving squad, as they are one of just three teams to have qualified for a bowl game with a losing record. The team finished out their last five games of the season with a 1-4 record, with a win over another conference basement dweller, Illinois, their only win during that stretch. It should be noted they played close against then-No. 15 Michigan back on Nov. 1 of this season. This game could give fans some indication of the direction this Gophers team will go with new head coach Tracy Claeys now in charge.
The points spread for this matchup currently has the Gophers favored by six points, with a price of -225 on the moneyline. As the underdogs, the Chippewas are +205 on the moneyline. The telling stat for Central Michigan is a 5-1-0 record against the spread as the underdog team, while Minnesota is just 2-3-0 as favorites and 6-6-0 ATS overall. This bowl game’s points total is right around 48 as of this report, for over/under bettors to consider.
