If the current trend means what most American’s think it means then come November, the last two standing will be Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Donald represents the Republican Party and Ms. Clinton the Democratic Party.
But just what does that mean? Democrat vs Republican? Remember the president is the leader of a body of a men and women elected by the people to make up the Congress of the United States. Remember the two parties are on different poles and are in direct opposition to one another and they live by two different philosophies: Conservative vs Liberalism. Many laws are enacted along party lines and are not necessarily the will of the people and are negotiated and connected to other issues. Those elected are supposed to represent the will of the people and not the will of lobbyist and party philosophies.
See previous article “Commentary Catagory of Voters: What is a conservative vs liberal?” That article lists the difference between the two opposing sides by political party. Somehow the will of the people has gotten lost in the will of the parties?
In a revised article by the Student News Daily, there is an accurate description of how each party stands on the issues facing Americans today. Conservatives believe in conserving the Constitution and Liberals lean toward a more European slant of government.
Affirmative Action, Death Penalty, Economy, Education, Embryonic Stem Research, Energy, Euthanasia, Global Warming, Gun Control, Health Care, Homeland Security, Immigration, Private Property, Religion and Government, Same Sex Marriage, Social Security, Taxes, United Nations, War on Terror, and Welfare.
“Liberals believe in government action to achieve equal opportunity and equality for all. It is the duty of the government to alleviate social ills and to protect civil liberties and individual and human rights. Believe the role of the government should be to guarantee that no one is in need. Liberal policies generally emphasize the need for the government to solve problems.”
“Conservatives believe in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional American values and a strong national defense. Believe the role of government should be to provide people the freedom necessary to pursue their own goals. Conservative policies generally emphasize empowerment of the individual to solve problems.”
Taking them one at a time lets look what the article has to say about each. Take how they feel about abortion for example Most people do not know the true premise behind abortion on demand. It is not so much about the choice of a woman controlling her own body – but more about population control – eugenics. Read more about Margaret Sanger the founder of Planned Parenthood. She was believed by many people to be a racist and saw poor black children as a plague on society.
Liberal view of abortion:
“A woman has the right to decide what happens with her body. A fetus is not a human life, so it does not have separate individual rights. The government should provide taxpayer funded abortions for women who cannot afford them. The decision to have an abortion is a personal choice of a woman regarding her own body and the government must protect this right. Women have the right to affordable, safe and legal abortions, including partial birth abortion.”
Conservative view of abortion:
“Human life begins at conception. Abortion is the murder of a human being. An unborn baby, as a living human being, has separate rights from those of the mother. Oppose taxpayer-funded abortion. Taxpayer dollars should not be used for the government to provide abortions. Support legislation to prohibit partial birth abortions, called the “Partial Birth Abortion Ban” the killing of an unborn baby of at least 20 weeks by pulling it out of the birth canal with forceps, but leaving the head inside. An incision is made in the back of the baby’s neck and the brain tissue is suctioned out. The head is then removed from the uterus.)
