If he were human, Rocky would wear “gold aviator sunglasses, flower-print board-shorts, a fossil watch, and no shirt,” says Michael Langeler of his 7 1/2 year old mini-labradoodle pal, “because he’s so cool and wants everyone to know it!”
Michael, a kennel assistant at the Pixie Project in Portland (and avid video-gamer), has known Rocky (aka Bubbabear) for most of his life, meeting him as a puppy in Silverton, Oregon, and these days they’re pretty much inseparable.
Every day when Michael gets home, Rocky “gets a toy in his mouth, whines happily, and wiggles and wags his entire body.” Along those lines, he says Rocky’s theme song would be Best Day of My Life by American Authors.
He admits that Rocky is quirky, and “sounds like Darth Vader when he begs for food,” but he’s always a great friend, licking his human pal’s hands and face if he thinks he’s had a rough day.
If he could drive, Michael thinks Rocky would probably choose a red Hummer H2 with big chrome rims, “so he could explore the Great Outdoors in style!” Meanwhile though, he contents himself with playing with Biscuit the neighbor dog, playing catch in the lawn with Michael, and tearing up toys.
When asked how his life would be different without Rocky, Michael says “I would miss his greeting when I come home from work, his unconditional love, his crazy and playful nature, and how he cracks me up all the time.”
