We remember when Peyton Manning was in school at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee and we also recall the enthusiasm he brought to the game of American football there. College athletics suited Peyton so well. We loved to watch him in the games, and then when he went professional, our whole family was involved in watching, to see him win, or strive to win. From his Indianapolis Colts tenure, to a brief time when we all hoped he would come to Nashville where he could play for the Tennessee Titans, we’ve followed Peyton Manning’s career throughout the years.
Since he left Indianapolis and for the time Peyton has played for the Denver Broncos, we’ve kept up with him and what’s going on in his world. We like to see him when he gets together with his brother, Eli Manning, of the New York Giants and that seems to be fairly often. We have wondered at times and speculated whether or not there really was a true rivalry between the two Manning boys.
After winning the Super Bowl, Peyton seemed to be at his peak in football. Now we hear that it’s a possibility he may retire and we don’t want to see him go. Although an athlete has a time to play and a time to give it up, all of the legion of Peyton Manning fans are not quite ready to hear him say that he is giving up the game we know he loves so well.
After you have watched the attached video, ‘Elway plans for life without Manning’, give us your thoughts on Peyton Manning, whether you think he should retire or go forward with the game.
