Shocking new details have emerged about Pat Houston’s refusal to let a holistic doctor hired by Bobby Brown treat Bobbi Kristina in her final days. On the recommendation of Whitney Houston’s goddaughter Brandi Burnside, Bobby Brown summoned Jollie Harris III, a Los Angeles-based practitioner of holistic medicine, to come to the Peachtree Christian Hospice in a last ditch effort to keep Bobbi Kristina alive. According to An exclusive RadarOnline interview published on Jan. 19, Bobby Brown did this only after researching Harris’ healing methods, checking out his track record, and discussing the matter with family members.
After being escorted to Bobbi Kristina’s room by Bobby Brown and finding that Bobbi Kristina was not in a coma as he had been told, Harris requested Bobby’s permission to personally examine Bobbi Kristina so he could accurately assess her present condition for himself. Encouraged by Bobbi Kristina’s response, Harris them met with Bobby Brown, Pat Houston, and Bobbi Kristina’s doctors to find out what they were currently doing for Bobbi Kristina, discuss what he could do to help. NOTE: Details of Harris’ examination of Bobbi Kristina and what happened during his meeting with her doctors can be found here.
Harris, who’d brought two gallons of specially prepared herbal juices with him, explained that the juices were a mixture of herbs, seeds and other natural ingredients. He went on to describe in detail what each gallon of juice was for. Anticipating that Bobbi Kristina might be unable to consume the juices orally, Harris told the other doctors the herbal mixtures were formulated so they could be administered to Bobbi Kristina through a feeding tube.
Pat Houston flat out refused to allow the herbal mixture to be given to Bobbi Kristina, even though Bobby Brown was more than willing to try. According to The Mirror on Jan. 19, Harris said Pat Houston gave the following reasons why:
“She said her reason for saying no … She said that Bobbi Kristina would not wanna live being a paraplegic. She said that Bobbi Kristina would not wanna live being bed-ridden. She said Bobbi Kristina would not wanna live if she could not sing or dance or perform like she normally does.”
Taken aback by Pat Houston’s response, Harris commented
It’s a life. We don’t let a life go just because one person feels the person should not stay here.
Harris, who reportedly has a track record of helping other patients in Bobbi Kristina’s condition, as well as others who were even worse off, said he felt 1000% that Bobbi Kristina’s body could have been restored. He stated emphatically
“Her life could have been saved, would have been saved if Pat Houston had allowed us to put the herbs in her (Bobbi Kristina’s) body.
Certainly at that stage in Bobbi Kristina’s condition, a holistic mixture of herbal juices would not have hurt her in any way, nor would they have caused her any bodily harm. It might have even been able to save her life. But since Pat Houston blocked it, we’ll never know.
The bottom line is that Pat Houston chose death for Bobbi Kristina over possible paralyzation And even though the court appointed Pat co-guardian with Bobby Brown regarding Bobbi Kristina’s medical care, was it really Pat Houston’s choice to make? Pat Houston’s refusal may have cost Bobbi Kristina her life.
