In a deposition, Camille Cosby claimed that she never read her husband Bill Cosby’s deposition in 2005, in which he admitted that he gave Quaaludes to women he wanted to have sex with, according to People, March 9, 2016.
An excerpt of 15 pages from Camille’s testimony was released by Bill Cosby’s lawyers as they try to convince the judge to delay the civil lawsuit until Bill is done with his felony conviction in Pennsylvania.
Camille Cosby was ordered to give her deposition on February 22 at a hotel in Springfield, Massachusetts, for any information she may have concerning the defamation lawsuit filed by Tamara Green and six other women in Massachusetts. Camille also denied that she has read the criminal complaint filed by Andrea Constand against her husband Bill Cosby.
After several hours of questioning, Camille finally confessed that she learned of the defamation case through her husband Bill Cosby. She admitted to being “somewhat” familiar with the allegations leveled against Bill.
However, as the questioning continued, Camille became agitated at times and she refused to answer whether or not she even talked about the deposition contents with her family members. She repeatedly said, “I don’t want to answer that. That is communication between me and my husband.”
Joseph Cammarata, attorney for the victims, retaliated and said, “You don’t get that privilege, that you just tell me you’re not going to answer.”
It seemed that Camille Cosby was not going to answer anything and both she and the questioning lawyer were getting frustrated in the proceedings. When Mr. Cammarata threatened to call the judge and order her to answer, they took a brief break. When they resumed the deposition, Camille’s legal team told her to answer with yes or no. Camille finally admitted that she talked with Bill about the deposition. However, the rest of the information about what she discussed or learned remained confidential between husband and wife.
Camille Cosby was able to effectively evade answering 166 questions asked by claiming that it was privileged information shared between a husband and wife. She and her team of lawyers fought against having to do the deposition until the last minute, but it did not do them any good and she still had to answer.
Do you think Camille Cosby took the easy way out by claiming that it was conversation between husband and wife.? Did her refusal on answering the questions give them more reason to suspect that she knows way more then she is telling?
