From stunning gowns to chic pantsuits, the ladies of Hollywood definitely turned heads on the red runway as they strolled into the 88th annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles on February 28. So, who are the best dressed Oscars 2016 contenders?
For this year’s Academy Awards festivities, singer-turned-actress Lady Gaga channeled Old Hollywood glam in a vampy white strapless skirted pantsuit and platinum finger waves. Her best accessory? Fiancé Taylor Kinney all dressed up in his tux. Such a cute couple!
Another best dressed Oscars 2016 nominee is Whoopi Goldberg – who was momentarily confused for media mogul Oprah Winfrey by writers at online beauty site Total Beauty. (Last we checked, Oprah doesn’t have a giant dragon tattoo a la Whoopi.) Whoopi was decked out in a flowing black gown and an eclectic octopus ring that enveloped a good portion of her hand and wrist. The outspoken comic and actress brought her daughter as her date.
Naomi Watts stood out from the crowd on the Oscars red carpet in a shimmery, multi-colored strapless gown. The actress sparkled in the figure-hugging Armani design, a diamond leaf necklace and a bold red lip. Actress Alicia Vikander in looked prim and proper in a pastel yellow custom Louis Vuitton creation. Jennifer Lawrence looked like a wispy, goth-infused dream in a black lace Dior number, while Charlize Theron dazzled in a sultry red frock with a plunging neckline, also by Dior.
