Square Enix has several titles scheduled for 2016, but none are bigger or more anticipated than the release of Final Fantasy XV. At long last, we finally have an official release for Square Enix’s RPG, and it is coming sooner than most people had originally thought. Though the company was planned to make an official announcement later this evening, GameSpot posted a video revealing the title’s release ahead of schedule. Final Fantasy XV will release on Friday, Sept. 30 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
To coincide with the release date leak, additional information has surfaced online revealing that a new demo for Final Fantasy XV will be released following Square Enix’s event and announcement reveal. The demo will be made available on the PS Store and Xbox Live Marketplace this evening. Details on the content of demo are limited at the current moment, but those that play it will be able to unlock content that can be used in the full release. Additionally, the demo will feature combat scenarios for the player to experience.
Despite the title’s release date and demo release being leaked ahead of time, those interested in learning more about the title should watch The Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV event, which will take place this evening. Final Fantasy XV was announced for PS4 and Xbox One at E3 2013. The game’s release has been a long time coming since it was originally announced as PS3 exclusive Final Fantasy Versus XIII way back in 2006. Quite the coincidence that Final Fantasy XV sees release a decade after the initial announcement of Versus XIII.
