Welcome to this week’s update, which is filled with a lot of gluten-free goodness for the Atlanta gluten-free community.
Arepa Mia in Decatur serves brunch on Sundays with a new menu every week. Arepa is a dedicated 100% gluten free restaurant, cross contact with toast, pancakes, etc. isn’t an issue. Last week the brunch menu featured cream cheese empanadas with guava.
Egg Harbor Cafe’s gluten-free menu has expanded to include Udi’s Gluten Free toast. Their menus are updated pretty frequently and I have to say adding toast is such a smart idea. They make sandwiches on Udi’s bread for lunch/dinner, so it make sense to offer it for breakfast too. Love being able to load toast up with a pile of eggs or jam/jelly.
Farmhouse Coffee & Crepe is serving gluten-free baked goods from Seven Sisters Scones and Sally’s Gluten Free Bakery. Stop by for a cup of coffee and a gluten-free pastry. The Farmhouse is still structuring its menu and is currently open Monday-Saturday from 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Pieology Pizzeria is coming to The Atwater, a new development in Alpharetta across the street from Avalon, on Old Milton Parkway, and is expected to open in June. They offer gluten-free crust, but stress that it is not recommended for guests with celiac disease. Here is the formal disclaimer: GLUTEN FREE CRUST – Our pizza crust is made with gluten-free ingredients, however, all of our pizzas are prepared in a common kitchen with the risk of gluten exposure. Pieology does not recommend our gluten-free pizzas for guests with celiac disease. Guests with gluten sensitivities should also exercise caution and judgment when ordering our gluten-free pizzas.
Plum Cafe in Roswell is now selling and serving 2B Whole European Gluten Free Bakery’s sweets, breads, and pizza crust dough. Plum Cafe is no stranger to gluten-free because it offers sandwiches on Udi’s Gluten Free bread and labels all items on menu with a “GF”. Choose from an extensive lists of sandwiches, soups (served with toasted bread) and desserts.
Press & Grind in the Highlands has a dedicated gluten free bakery section with a variety of treats, including chocolate tarts. The restaurant also offers gluten-free bread for sandwiches. They are not a dedicated gluten-free establishment, so cross contact with gluten is possible.
Seven Seas Mediterranean Cafe has gluten free pita bread from 2B Whole European Gluten-Free Bakery in Alpharetta, Scoop up their homemade hummus or babaganoush on gluten-free pita, gyros and sandwiches can be served on pita too. This is the only restaurant in Atlanta that I know of offering gluten -free pita. Pretty exciting for the community.
Have a great weekend!
